But when your e-commerce orders spike and you’re trying to scale up, that curing stage is usually where everything crawls to a halt. It’s the classic bottleneck. That’s why we built our UV systems to be modular. We wanted something you could just “drop in.” You shouldn’t have to tear apart your entire conveyor setup just because you need a bit more power.
How the modular stuff actually works
Think of it like building blocks. We use standardized power blocks and lamp lengths. If you decide to crank up your belt speed by 20%, you don’t need a new machine. You just snap in another module to make sure your parts get the UV dose they need. Simple as that. We house high-intensity bulbs in aluminum reflectors. We’ve angled them specifically to push the beam right onto the product, so you aren’t wasting energy heating up the air around it. One heads-up, though: keep an eye on the heat. More modules mean more heat. Just make sure your exhaust fans are doing their job so your parts don’t warp.
Getting it up and running (fast)
Supply chains are a mess right now, so we keep our most common specs sitting on the shelf. No waiting around for “custom lead times” on standard lengths. Plus, we use standard connectors. You can have the whole thing wired up in a few minutes. The best part? It’s easy to swap. When a bulb finally gives out, you just replace that one module. You aren’t replacing the whole rig, which means your line stays moving.
A few things to keep in mind
High-output systems are picky about power. If your facility has voltage swings, you’ll see the lights flicker. That leads to “tacky” surfaces or spots that just didn’t cure right. It’s a nightmare to fix after the fact. If you’re running more than five modules, do yourself a favor and get a dedicated stabilizer. It keeps the output steady across the whole zone and saves you a lot of headaches.
